Chane Terminal Geulhaven starts phase 3 expansion

Chane Terminal Geulhaven has started phase 3 of its terminal expansion, increasing storage capacity by 20,000 m³. The project strengthens the terminal's ability to support customers with flexible, reliable storage solutions while preparing for future growth. The expansion is led by Project Manager Roel Kremer and Manager Projects Roelof Zeilmaker, in close collaboration with the terminal team headed by Operational Manager Dico Spek.

With this development, we can offer more storage volume while continuing to build a terminal that operates in a flexible and reliable way.'' Roel Kremer, Project Manager

Responding to customer demand

The additional capacity is a direct response to growing market demand. Beyond creating more storage space, the expansion gives customers greater flexibility and certainty while supporting increasing volumes of renewable feedstocks and bio-based products. The project also builds on experience gained during the previous expansion phases. Improvements to the piping systems and heating solutions have been incorporated into the design, making operations more efficient and easier to maintain.

Built together

Constructing new storage tanks while the terminal remains fully operational requires close cooperation between engineering, construction and terminal operations.

It involves a lot of precise fitting and measuring within an existing terminal. We continue working with partners from phase 2 because they already know the terminal and its systems, allowing us to execute the project more efficiently. Roelof Zeilmaker, Manager Projects

The expansion is expected to be completed in February 2027, further strengthening Chane Terminal Geulhaven's position as a reliable storage partner for the liquid bulk market.
